Proposals for a day of fishing in Trentino

Some fishing proposals we recommend, paired with the ideal period to practice them in the waters of Trentino.

Stream trout classic

Our most typical fishing day. In the morning, we start with a large valley stream to tackle with fly or spinning, where we will find marble trout, brown trout, and hybrids. After a packed lunch and a briefing on the waters, in the afternoon, we move to a tributary with spectacularly colored brown trout. Perhaps in the evening, we will return to a stretch of the valley stream. But that’s just an example! There are countless ways to spend a full day in the flowing waters of Trentino. We will choose the best options together based on conditions and seasonality.

Full day or half day

From March to September, especially April, May, June, and September.

Marmorata day

A day of fishing divided into 2 or more spots in search of the most elusive and unique river trout, Her Majesty the marble trout, a fish unique in the world. Particularly suited for the spinning angler but also for the fly fisherman, it’s the challenge of pursuing the big fish. The blank is always around the corner but… so is the catch to remember!

Full day or half day

March, April, May, June, and September.

Salvelinus area

Do you love the mountains, adventure, the landscapes of the Alps, the unique liveries of high-altitude salmonids? Are you willing to hike to reach fishing paradises? Then this is the proposal for you! A full day in the Alps, among breathtaking landscapes and mysterious char in icy high-altitude waters. The itinerary may include 1 or 2 lakes, or a lake and an alpine stream, or an alpine lake and an evening finale in the valley! The guide will evaluate with you the optimal solution based on conditions. From light spinning to various alternative techniques…EVEN FLY FISHING ON LAKE RISES!!

Full day only – €10 supplement per person.

From June to September, best period June 15-July 15 and late September.

Coregon and perch boat trip

A fish that has been generating a real fever among anglers across Europe in recent years, the coregone!! A fish to target with various techniques from the boat using chironomid imitations. Large specimens (even 50 to over 60 cm) must be fought methodically to avoid losing the fish, an uncertain battle until the net. A full day on the boat to target them, often accompanied by large perch. And the surprise of a beautiful lake trout is not excluded…

Full day or half day

From February to May, sometimes even June. Ideal period from late February through April. Also possible sometimes in September-October.

Light spinning in the lake

A day of mixed spinning from the boat. The most classic prey will be large perch and chub, which we will sometimes see hunting by literally exploding the forage schools. Real feeding frenzies, on which to cast our lures! In some lakes, it will be easy to encounter lake trout, in others black bass, and…the lurking pike is always around the corner! In summer, we will fish for perch with topwater lures (even poppers!), while in autumn, we will switch to fishing with weighted jig heads or dropshot, alternating with spinning from the boat on the rises of lake trout, and of course trolling as well.

Full day or half day

From May to July, from September to mid-November

Predators of autumn

A day dedicated to pike and perch, or even just one of the two. One or more itineraries during the outing to target these predators with spinning or even fly fishing, from the shore or by boat.

Full day or half day in October, only full day in November.

October-November

The fish of the ice

Not just skiing and Christmas markets, fishing in January is an unmissable event! A unique winter experience, the hunt for the true ghost that reappears every year in the fog of icy January, the lake trout. Sometimes followed by the mysterious inhabitant of the lake's darkness, the Arctic char. Challenge the cold beneath the snow-covered Dolomites, cast your lures into the frigid waters of the lake. Often, you can also successfully fish for perch and magnificent coregon!

Full day only

January

Evening on the hunt with dry fly.

From late afternoon until darkness, the magical summer hours for dry fly fishing, when trout become active on terrestrial and aquatic insects.

Half day only.

May, June, September.

Tinca, the princess of the lakes.

Especially with feeder, but also with waggler and Bolognese techniques, here is the most coveted prey. Tench from 2 to over 3 kg are not rare catches. While searching for them, we will come across crucian carp, chub, carp, and much more. Also worth trying is feeder fishing from the boat!!

Full day or half day

Late April, May, then July and September also evening and night. Sometimes also October.

The golden barbs

Wonderful barbs, 100% barbus plebejus, often weighing around 2 kg, real trains to hook with a fly rod or the more traditional Bolognese technique.

Full day or half day

From May to July.

Don’t say cat…

Him, Ictalurus melas, the catfish mistakenly considered "native," the one many seek and miss, also for the goodness of its meat. Well, some lakes in Trentino are infested with them, want to fill a bucket and have fun with friends?

Full day or half day

From May to October.
